Certification Review 2025

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) will be conducting a Certification Review of the transportation planning process for the Evansville Metropolitan Planning Organization’s (EMPO) metropolitan area the week of January 20. The public is welcome to attend two listening sessions. These sessions will be held the evening of January 21st or 22nd.

The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) continues the requirement for certification of the transportation planning process in urbanized areas over 200,000 population once every four years. Certification reviews are conducted with the objective of evaluating the transportation planning process. The review is intended to highlight good practices, exchange information, and identify opportunities for improvements.

The Certification Review will involve an opportunity for the public, including key MPO committee members and special interest groups, to provide comments to FHWA and FTA on the transportation planning process. Two public meetings will be held to give the public an opportunity to talk to FHWA and FTA in person. These meetings will be held:

Evansville Meeting
